Los Santos 1995

Los Santos before mobile phones. You'll be using payphones, reading street signs, and finding people by turning up where they said they'd be. It's a slower city, and that's very much the point.

Who you can be

Everything here is built for the era. If 1995 wouldn't have had it, neither do you, and most of what makes the city interesting comes out of that.

Policing

One department, three badges. You choose whether you're going on duty with LSPD in the city, LSSD out in the county, or San Andreas Highway Patrol on the state roads, so a shift can look completely different depending on the badge you pick up.

Fire and EMS

Both run out of the same department and both are live. There's less kit than a crew would have today, because a 1995 crew should have less.

Factions

There's no application to start one. Get some people together and go. If you'd rather be an official faction, come and talk to us. That gets you imported clothing, your own MLO, and a hand making the thing real.

Honest work

Mining, hunting and fishing, all built to be roleplayed rather than clicked through. Past that you'll be working for a real business in town, or out in the hills selling meat to a restaurant that'll pay for it.

The other side of it

Heists written by us rather than bought in, a drug operation that runs from production through to sale, plus boosting, racing, money laundering, and the money truck if you've got the people for it.

Apply to play

We're far more interested in how you write than in how long you've played. Someone with two thousand hours who rushes the answers will usually get turned down, and someone with none who's clearly thought about their character usually won't.

Please join the Discord before you apply. We can't review an application from someone who isn't in the server, and it's where we'll come back to you with a decision.

Join the Discord
Discord → Settings → Advanced → Developer Mode, then right-click your name and copy the ID. Enter your 17–20 digit Discord ID.
Tell us your Discord username.
Give your character a full name.
The city is 18+. You need to be 18 or over to play here.
Pick your timezone.
Zero is a perfectly good answer. Put a number in, even if it's zero.
Tell us a little about your experience.

We need at least 200 words here.
Give us a couple of sentences.

Sending this means you've read the ruleset and you're agreeing to it.

Before you ask us

Common questions

The things people ask most often. If yours isn't here, ask in the Discord and somebody will answer.

How long does the whitelist take?

Usually a day or two. Two of us read every application properly rather than skimming it, and a weekend can push it a little longer.

You'll get a Discord message either way, so make sure your DMs are open or you won't hear from us.

Do I need a microphone?

Yes. This is a voice server and there's no text roleplay alternative. If you can't speak, this isn't the right place for you, and we'd rather say so now than after you've written an application.

Do I need roleplay experience?

No, and it counts for less than you'd think. We're reading for whether you can hold a character, not how many hours you've logged.

Plenty of people get in with no FiveM time at all. Put zero in the hours box if that's the honest answer.

Can I write my application with AI?

Please don't. We can tell, and it gets denied.

We're not looking for polished. A rough answer in your own words beats a tidy one that isn't yours, every single time.

What if I'm turned down?

We'll tell you what we thought of it rather than sending a bare no. Leave it a fortnight and apply again.

Plenty of people get in on their second try, and a reapplication doesn't count against you.

How old do I have to be?

Eighteen, and there's no flexibility on it.

What do I need to play?

A legal copy of Grand Theft Auto V and the FiveM client, which is free. Nothing else, and there's nothing to pay us to get in.

Can I start a gang or a business?

A faction needs no application at all. Get some people together and go.

If you want official status, which brings imported clothing and your own MLO, come and talk to us. For a business, open a ticket in the Discord and we'll set you up with a property and a licence.

What actually makes this a 1995 server?

No mobile phones, no GPS and no fast travel. You use payphones, read street signs, and find people by turning up where they said they'd be.

Past that it's the vehicles, the clothing, the police equipment and the world itself, all rebuilt for the era. The development log goes through the lot in detail.

Applications open

Law enforcement

One department, three badges. You apply once and you train once. After that you pick which of the three you're going out as every time you go on duty, and you can change it whenever you like.

The department is running and recruiting. You'll need the community whitelist above first, though. We can't take a department application from someone who can't get into the city yet.
